Old Dogs Can Learn New Tricks

We all heard that saying “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” and I sure that this applies to many things that our bodies will just not allow us to do anymore as we get up in age. But there are some things that this younger generation has been doing for awhile that us older adults “can” learn to do and it fit right into our everyday life.
No I’m not talking about running a 100 mile marathon, start mountain climbing, bungee jumping  or trying to get by on one hour sleep a night, but something that many teenager’s have been doing for several years now. It’s texting, that’s right texting!

Now going back a few years ago when I still had a couple of teenagers living at home and I got them cell phones, the first thing they wanted was to text. Now mind you this was a “Phone” and they wanted to “Text” because all there friend’s was doing it. I just scratched my head then about this strong desire they had for texting and thought to myself “Teenagers” give them something they can make calls on and they want it mainly for texting, GO FIGURE!!!!!
Then as time went by I started to receive some texts message from my family and friends and I thought are they trying to act like a teenager’s. Now I did start trying to reply to some of those texts, and again I will say tried because I had a hard time using the number keypad to spell words on the Moto Razr I had at the time. But when I became eligible for an upgrade with U.S. Cellular I got a Moto Q Smartphone that had a keypad that had numbers and “LETTERS”. So I was now able to reply and send text messages with ease.

Since then I have upgraded my phone again with U.S. Cellular to an Android Smartphone which makes texting even simpler because you can now speak your text. That’s right, you can just say it and send it if you don’t want to take the time to type it. Now how cool is that!
Although I now send and receive several text and picture messages a month, I will have to admit that I still don’t come anywhere close to the amount my teenagers would do monthly. But I have to say that I do enjoy texting and being able to send a picture message. I do still talk on the phone but having this option of texting is something that has become a part of daily life style now.

So I give Thanks to all the teenagers for leading the way in this new form of communication and teaching this older dog a new trick.
Ok, for the next new trick for me to learn…How about Bungee Jumping….NOT!!!!!  lol

Out with the Old & In with the New

Long, Long, Long ago….Not really but it does seems awhile since I was using a standard flip cell phone that could only make calls and send texts. But now I would be lost (At least I think I might) if I didn’t have my handy dandy do it all Android Smartphone. How quickly we get use to having to have something and feel we just can’t function without it.
Now my first Smartphone was a Motorola Moto Q that I got from U.S. Cellular and I was upgrading to it from a Motorola Razr. The Moto Razr was a really nice phone but the Moto Q was light years ahead because now I could do more. I now had a mini computer in my pocket that would not only let me make calls and send text, now I had the internet in my pocket wherever I went. I could now read/send e-mail, read the current news and have my social media like Facebook and Tweeter available to me while on the go.

Life was good but technology continue to advance and then comes the all powerful Android Smartphone’s that makes the Moto Q look like an old slow worn out child’s toy. So I had to have one and went down to my local US Cellular store and bought the Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize.
Now life was not only good, now it was GREAT! This phone would do it all and it was super fast in doing it. It was not only a workhorse, it was the kind of toy that us big boy’s like and must have to stay in the know.

But time goes by and as the tech world continues to advance, I now find myself waiting for the latest and greatest next Android release to satisfy my hunger for more.  But the wait is almost over with the release of the Samsung Galaxy II.

The Wait Is Almost Over!

That's right, U.S. Cellular has announced that the Samsung GalaxyII will be released soon. The rumor of this power house top of the line Android coming to U.S.Cellular has been going on for a few month and now that the release has been confirmed, many posted thier excitement on many of the online social and media networks. This news is surely making a lot of thier happy customer's even happier.

Also U.S. Cellular is about to launch thier 4G LTE network first part of April of this year and it seems that good news from them keeps coming.

It really is an exciting time to be a U.S.Cellular customer and I believe we will continue to see many more exciting things coming in the future. No wonder that they have some of most "Happiest Customer's" in wireless.

Yes I've been a very happy customer with U.S.Cellular for many years and also a proud member of the U.S.Cellular Customer Crew Team.
